This is J.P. Licks in Jamaica Plain. Located at 659 Centre St. This neighborhood establishment is my personal headquarters as a primary meeting place for appointments and friendly gatherings. Vince Petryk is the Ice Cream King of Jamaica Plain and we thank him for his first class tasty kosher/dairy products, and for his beautiful renovation of an old firehouse and former JP Arts House.Billions of pounds of ice cream and coffee and breakfast fare and pastry have been served to all; and the employment of many a college student has kept the JP economy healthy and intact for over 25 years.
Jamaica Pond is noted as the Jewel of the Emerald Necklace, Frederick Law Olmstead's Masterpiece , extending from the Fenway through Jamaica Plain and the Arnold Arboretum to Franklin Park. There is no swimming, but boating and fishing are permitted. Many joggers run the 1.25 mile circle around the Pond.
